cell phone ticket

got a cell phone violation 3 weeks back, got the ticket in the mail and it was $161!!!!!! The base price for a first offense is $25, the rest are court, state, and county fees??!!!

This is so ridiculous. Such a ripoff. Total highway robbery.

Got one for $150 (i think) for using my phone in an alley. So lame. Anyway, took it to court since I had nothing to lose (doesn't affect driving record) and the cop never showed up. It was dismissed and awaiting my refund.

well....it's one thing to get a ticket. but it's another thing to get a ticket from an officer just doing his job stopping an idiot who was talking on the phone while driving in a bmw which most likely has bt. unless ur phone is that low tech then i'd be more than willing to understand.

the hands free sucks sometimes when you have exhaust drone it can be very hard for people to hear you.
btw i saw you at wendys in heritage plaza a few weeks ago you were driving passed my car when i came out.

No sympathy for you. I cannot stand people on their phones driving, at least you were not texting which is even worse. I think they should raise these tickets to red light ticket amounts 3-500 dollars.
