AFE dual intakes or just the KN Filter?

Are there "significant" differences from either or?

I did a search and some prefer the AFEs, then others just say get the filter.... and then some get the injen.

It's for a 335i

A drop-in filter is definitely not sufficient for high-boost (basically any tune aside from the BMW Power Kit). I have dyno-tested, you get more power with a drop-in but not the most power. I mean, if there is more power on the table, why not take advantage of it ? However the AFE intake is not one of the best choices, because it draws hot air (despite it's metallic crap shield which gets as hot as the engine). You will lose low-end power and torque with it. Look into the Stett CAI, it's alot better than BMS, AFE or Injen because it draws cool air from outside. For less money you can do a Mr. 5 intake (search). For more money you can get a Dinan intake which is the best intake available.

There is a significant difference with the afe. You will loose power. It's not because of heat, as people think. It's because it's extremely restrictive. Hot air is better than no air.

Although, if you were to remove the heat shield, you'll probably gain some hp
