Oil Check Control Light?
So i was coming in to work today and i noticed the little triangle with the ! in it on my display. Looked at the temp to make sure it wasnt just warning me about freezing temps... no its 48 outside. Came to a stop light and hit the Check Control, the oil level light came on, or at least thats why i think it is. Its a picture of a oil can above a wavey liquid substance. My car has 12k on it, should I be burning through oil this fast? My next scheduled service isnt until 16k, or so says the maintenance thing, i have no oil on any of my garage surfaces.

I would bring it in the the dealership. Some of the oil sensors have not been working right. I think there is a bulletin on this but I dont have number for it.
Hope this helps.

You can check this out also:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45222 It turned out that my oil levels were fine. I'm bringing it in to have the oil sensor replaced if it happens one more time. |

I took it to the dealer and they saw that i was a quart low, or so the computer said. They added a quart and sent me on my way. They said the 2006 325i wasn't in any bulletins for oil sensors, not sure how much truth there is to that statement.
I will say that i feel a bit dumb now after searching for 20 min under the hood this morning for a non-exsistant dip stick. Ed |

Glad you solved it, I was about to say possibly low oil warning. Its no unusual to burn a quart or two before your first scheduled oil change. Its also not unusual for the car to call for a scheduled oil change before 15k. I just did mine at 13.5k miles.
