Craigslist question

Saw a possible good deal (maybe too good) on CL and responded shortly after the original post. Never heard back. Does that happen often?

It was Friday afternoon, so maybe the OP is one of those folks who only checks email at work. Or they realized they weren't asking enough and will just ignore replies.

It happens. I'd e-mail again. If you don't hear back, just move on. A lot of people aren't courteous buyers/sellers on CL.

Figured as much. I'll email again, just in case. I don't usually buy stuff on CL or eBay for this very reason. I get my hopes up about a good deal and then it doesn't happen.

A lot of them are spammers too. I almost pulled the trigger on a 500mm canon lens for a great price, until I found out that the "local" buyer "just moved" to England and has to ship it to me. Like I was gonna do that... pay that much for a product sight unseen, or have the possibility of receiving a bag of dried poo in the mail instead.

Well with this one the seller is local. I won't buy anything until I've seen it and put it through some testing. But overall, yeah, you need to be careful.

Yup happens all the time. I've sold many camera items on craigslist and they'll call and have the items reserved. I've learned my lesson so it's first come first serve basis. So if you want the item, you better be available to pick it up right away. Also, call instead of email.

No phone number or I would have called. Personally I think they realized they were pricing it way too low and are just ignoring emails. Wouldn't surprise me to see it pop up again in a week at a higher price.

Saw an add for a lens which claimed it had great "bouquet."

Not sure about the advantage of a smelly lens.
