Citation on a car I sold
Several months ago I was ciited twice on two different occasions for tinted windows and front license plates. Since I got a extention on the tickets I totally forgot I had to have the citations corrected "fixed". Well now the court date is coming up and I don't have a car to fix I have sold the car and I pretty much never drilled through then bumper and removed the tints since it would hurt the resale value. Now what do I do? Do I I just take documentation to court and prove the car was sold, or what? Also the car is registered to my other half, should I just claim that I don't own the car and the owner sold it?
I don't know if it matters but one of the tickets was in Pasadena, and the other I have to go to downtown LA . Anyone have this issue, or have some advice?

Aslong as you have dmv papers for proof of sale and that you no longer own the vehicle, I'm sure the court will be able to assist you. Make sure you bring the papers with you though. Hope this helps.

Update:
I was in court today, and the judge dismissed the no license plate ticket because I showed proof the car was sold. Court fee was about 25 bucks.

I had an extension on my ticket, and I had to appear in court. So I ended up paying court fees. No money is always better but Im fine with paying the 25 bucks compared to the 140 for the violation.

On the side note, I was blown away by the number of people with infractions that didn't pay the stupid 60 bucks and get traffic school. They had no idea that they were getting a point on their records.
