OEM factory alarm on 335Ci audible?

i read from another member:

Only issue I had is when I had the OEM alarm installed. I wanted to have an audible sound when I lock my doors, not just the flash lights (just my personal preference). They installed the alarm, but the software does not play well, so they said to bring in back later in the year.

is this still an issue??

also, anyone have issues with CA and OEM alarm? still have to use keyfob to engage i assume? keyless to disengage, right?

so you must use the keyfob to engage with comfort access (CA)?
but you do NOT have to use the keyfob to disengage when approaching the car?

is this correct?

everything works exactly as it did before the alarm was installed... when you grab the handle, CA unlocks the car and disarms the alarm at the same time(chirp chirp), and then when you leave, it locks and arms the alarm (chirp) at the same time.

I am guessing that you do not have the acoustic confirmation set on.

with iDrive configure:
hazard flashers light: locking/unlocking
Acoustic confirm: locking/unlocking

without iDrive, use turn indicator stalk up/down button to find KEY symbol appears. Then set hazard flashers light and Acoustic confirm options.

I planned on getting the alarm but wanted to wait until the dealerships work on a few. Been reading too many horror stories. Good to hear a good news story on the alarms.

Question

Horror stories? I had the OEM alarm installed last week, and I've brought the car back for reprogramming, as it didn't add the acoustic confim. when locking & unlocking options (panic function doesn't work either). The siren does chirp once for arm and twice for disarm, but I'd like to have the ability to silence it from time to time (coming home late, for example). So my service writer calls and tells me that the audible confirm. options were removed mid production, and my car fell on "the wrong side of the VIN break". (built early last month) This sounds like to me. I called BMWNA Customer Relations for kicks, but he couldn't find anything to corroborate, though he did conceed that the explanation doesn't make much sense.

Has anyone out there heard anything like this?

In France, my panic button or sound confirmation don't work either with my alarm

Thumbs up All is well

For the record, my alarm programming issues were eventually resolved (third time's the charm!)
It took a PuMA case with a provided update file to finally do the trick.

To review:

Dealer installs OEM alarm
After picking up car, notice acoustic confirm. options not present and panic mode inoperable, also LED flashes rapidly on arming (as if "faulting out" a zone)
Describe above symptoms to SA, also request Progman v.25 for popup nav arrows (unaware at this point that it breaks RTTI)
Am told Program update was successful, but acoustic confirm. & panic features were discontinued mid-production and mine "fell on the wrong side of the VIN break". Also rapid LED flashing on arming is "normal".

Subsequently notice that hood switch does not trip alarm, by now Progman update that restores RTTI is available
Demonstrate faulty hood switch to tech, gently suggest that a PuMA case might be a good idea
Pick up car with acoustic confirm. options, panic mode, hood switch and RTTI all fully functional!
To alliteratively state the obvious moral:

Polite persistence pays

Piezo,

I am in a similar situation. Three visits already and still does not work correctly. I am persistent but getting very annoyed. V26 solved several issues like the fast flashing but the motion sesnors still do not work in my E93 top up or down !!

msimon18, I've sent you my PuMA case# in a PM; perhaps your tech might find something helpful by referring to it
As for the interior motion sensor, mine has worked all along. Where do they install that on an E93? I'm guessing not the headliner.
