In the documents it should give instructions on how to go to Device Manager, check to see what Com/Port your driver is set to; then add that to your com/port setting in the software.

I saw the comm ports. Some say not available but 3 or 4 dont show any errors when selected. How do I chance the setting in the pde reader?

In the computer's "Device Manager", select Coms/Ports--that will tell you something like ad;fkjd;klj driver-com5 (or whatever com/port it is)

Then, go under the Comms tab in the software, click on "Comms Setup"...then select "Comm X" that is the same number as in the device manager. Then try to connect.

Thanks so much. I'm going to try that.

Sometimes, even when you have the correct Comm selected the Procede will not connect. Close the Procede Reader and reopen it, then try again. That usually works.

+1
Also remember that the Procede will not recognize any comm ports above 10. So if Windows assigns it too high, just reassign it to something between 1 and 10 and you'll be good to go.
