Question Anyone know if it is beneficial to reset adaptation after a ECU Flash tune?

Will it be of a good benefit to ECU + transmission resets for adapatations after flashing the car?

I have a BT tool and worried I might do something not good/it may effect the tune?

I like too. I have issues though with throttle valve adaptions and the codes that come after. It can really ruin your day if every time you start the car it idles crazy, revving to 3K and back, over and over and over.

what year car do you have?

If you ask the BMS camp... they say leave it alone. Vishnu has it built into their interface.

Make sure you have time to mess around before you do it in case something goes south. There will be no permanent damage, just an inconvenience.

Try to reset the ECU, and everything that says air in it. Leave throttle adaptions alone. Then go through and manually clear the engine codes and the transmission codes. Then I like to reset the drive by wire using the gas pedal. That should give you a smooth, new feeling car and will erase everything the car learned about how to drive before you made the flash.

A ton of people will tell you not to bother... I would read up on it first!

thanks. I have a Z4 DCT with an ESS flash tune. Why leave the throttle adaptations alone? Also how do you reset the fly by wire?

I managed to do the reset on all adaptations - engine + DCT transmission.

AND YES! WOW! It make HUGE difference...I should have done this straight after my ESS tune flash install!!

This is no joke, I feel much more solid power and the DCT lag on reverse gear is gone.
