Auto-x Tomorrow And I Need Help With Proceed...
So great timing. I'm getting ready for my first ever Winter AutoX which is tomorrow morning. My car threw a yellow engine half full today. I think I was very low on oil and solved that problem. The car idles and the code does not come back to the big screen.
BUT the small little engine light comes after a few seconds. I assume this is something to get me to bring it into the dealer. I can't seem to understand the vishnu code clearing thing to try it. I put the key in till it clicks, the press the gas all the way down... and that's when the codes should appear right? Cause nothing shows... Any help on how this actually works?? If I can eliminate the code, I can go tomorrow. Otherwise I wont drag the car all the way there to ruin it. (and yes, I'll post pics after tomorrow )

You have to have the user software data log screen open for it to read out. Also, it can clear codes, but if its something thats still messed up, it will just keep popping up.

You have to turn the ignition on (engine off).
push gas peddle to the floor, you should see the 'half engine' light push the gas peddle to the floor again, that'll clear the code and the 'half engine' light should disappear from your instrument cluster. You're good to go...... Hope this helps

Ok, so I tried that. The gas dial goes to full, then right back to zero. Then nothing. I press the gas all the way down and no code shows... :S

Once you turn the car on, leave it on (I'm saying this because it sounded like you just turn the car on and off), and do the steps I described a few posts up........
With the car ignition on: -Depress the gas peddle all the way down and hold for 1 sec. -'half-engine' light should come on the instrument cluster and/or iDrive -Depress the gas peddle all the way down again, until the 'half-engine' light disappears in the instrument cluster. -Start the car and you're good to go.....

It's not that hard....just KEEP you foot off the brake during all this.
Push the 'start' button until you can read your gas gauge.....that's it.

Push the Start button with your foot OFF the brake (or no clutch if your MT).
You want to hit the start button until the gas gauge is functioning and STAYS on. That is considered Ignition on (engine off). I believe your daytime running lights (halos/Angel eyes) will also be working in that time. IF they arent on, then your ignition isnt on. (unless you turned DRL off). I normally use the BT tool. |

Ok, so i'm still having issues with this and I don't know why. When I turn on the ignition I see a large yellow "!" on the screen... nothing changes when I press the gas.
I have someone coming to buy the procede in like 30 minutes and I need to clear my codes before I take it out!!!! Any help? I don't know what the deal is with the large yellow "!". I'm not getting a half engine light.......

Doesn't the "!" mean your keys are in and the door is open?

FML... wow... I would have spent all day trying to do this with the door open.
I think it worked. I got the half engine light to flash, then it just went away. I pressed the gas a second time but the light goes away pretty quick. Please tell me I finally did this... ??
