3 quick procede questions
I know this has been covered, but there is a mountain of info and searching through it all this is what I believe to be the truth. Just want to make sure.
1) I'm not sure which version I have. I think it is v3 revII? I click the hazard button twice to change maps if that helps and the subconnector wires are green/blue and red/yellow. 2) Aren't v3 and v5 essentially the same? So the only upgrade to v5 is changing the firmware and then the new maps? 3) Are the 12-17 maps the newest autotune maps? Do I just upgrade firmware to v4 for these? I have the cord into the glove box ready to go. I won't be doing the optional harness change.

Oh yeah... is it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to be plugged into a wall? The AC outlets don't work in my garage .

From my understanding, the V3 RevII is the same box as the V5 and you can update it without any issues. The harness is slightly different, but if you email robert@vishnutuning.com he can probably offer you a great deal on the new harness (PM me for details). Its not necessary but if you PM me, I'm almost certain you'll consider it. The entire firmware update/map update will only take a 3-5 minutes assuming your cable works well on your computer. If not you may have to tinker with your power settings or find a driver that works properly to keep the connection going long enough for the update to complete.

The "new harness" is just removing the o2 simulators. I should've done it when the procede was out of the car, but I didn't, and I'm not taking it back apart right now considering its an optional change.

The latest autotuning maps are here along with everything you need for the update:
http://www.procedetuning.com/BMW/n54...downloads.html Are you wanting to update to V4 or V5? Either way both firmware/maps and software are listed in that link |

The latest Beta Maps with DIC DO NOT have autotuning enabled. Shiv said autotuning won't be enable until they are out of Beta. Stick with the regular V5 maps at first and if you want to try out the DIC ones, just see what autotuning sets your boost at while running V5 and set that number manually in the settings for the DIC map.

OK. I'm gonna go ahead and do the 1-21 maps.
It says in the word doc that you upload the 1-21 map with ignition fully ON? Do you really do it with the car running? Thanks everyone for tolerating my questions. I don't have enough time to stay up to date on the fast-changing software etc.
