GIAC stage II flash...

I will be getting the GIAC stage II flash installed next week but curious if the software will be eliminating the need to purchase the down-pipe fix > http://www.redline-motorworks.com/pr...ipe-fix-v3.htm
Does anyone know if the stage 2 software takes care of the dp fix?

Oh snap! Mark at Pfaff told me the stage II flash comes with the fix. Unless he's talking about a newer fix or he could be simply mistaken. Perhaps Austin can chime in.

My stage 2 GIAC with the newest flash needs the downpipe fix ... I am using the Burger Tuning one. Have fun with the tune.

It doesn't have a downpipe fix.

Confirmed.

They could do it, of course (in Europe almost all tuners offer this service if requested) but will not as tampering with emissions behaviour of a car is a criminal offense, IIRC.

Mark may be correct.....I have been running my stg 2 race flash now since march of 2010. I have had the burger v3 fix installed at the same time. I was running fully catless and got codes after running smoothly for 3-4 months. They were secondary cat codes and i could not get rid of them. I then changed my exhaust setup back to stock but with the catless dp's still in place and disabled the dp fix to try to get rid of some of the codes that terry said are hard to get rid of. As soon as the stock exhaust went back on the codes dissapeared, literally on the drive home from the shop. Now keep in mind i disabled the dp fix so it should have no effect on my cel.
Either way i am still running catless dp's with stock exhaust and no codes with the flash. So my car is an anomaly or giac did alter the software so it doesnt throw codes....highly unlikely. I tried asking terry on n54tech but got no response.
This car is strange to say the least, but it runs without issue and when i scan with the bt no codes.....

It doesn't have the dp fix, I have the burger one. The tune is awesome, tons of power, you'll love it!

Thanks for the responses. Question: Does the dp fix tune out the CEL light completely or does it still provide a signal indicating there is an actual problem?

It fixes it completely, no codes or lights at all.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my earlier ask. I'm worried that the dp fix clears all CEL issues. If that's the case how would you know if you actually have a real problem???

you would get a code if something is actually wrong.

all the downpipe fix does is manipulate the readings from the secondary oxygen sensors, so the dme "thinks" there are still cats in place. any other issues with the car will still trigger CEL's

n54tuning.com is based off Canada, right? They carry all the BMS products and they should be able to get you a BMS downpipe fix.
