Factory 8"s not working after aftermarket sub/amp install?

07 335i E90 with L7

Hey all, I've been cursing the past 4 hours during my install. Couldn't find a damn remote trigger anywhere in the area, but I went ahead with the install any way. Here are my problems:

Used a LOC and tapped in to the factory 8's under the seat. I noticed immediately after install that when music is playing, I'm getting no sound to my underseat subs. I unplugged the RCA's from my amp to ensure this.

Also, when I have both (+) and (-) RCA's from the LOC plugged in to the amp, I get a totally screwed signal. When I just have one plugged in, it sounds about right. I definitely need to tune.

Now I'm going to run outside to pull my remote wire, because I read on here that if I tap it to the factory amp power wire, it will turn off after 5 minutes, or 1 minute after locking the car. This isn't the case for me. So I'm ordering a low voltage remote trigger now.

Any thoughts on the problems above? I've done all my installs on previous cars, and never stumbled on something like this. Thanks in advance!

-Eric

Also, meant to add, the amp is an Alpine MRP-m500.

Meh, just ordered a PAC LOC and remote trigger, since I already have all of the needed wires t-tapped, I'll just wait for this to come in and go back through the install nice and slow. Should've waited in the first place.

The rem lead is pin 13 at the back of all oem HUs.

You probably tapped the wires incorrectly.....if the subs work after uninstalling everything, then it's your installation.

I t-tapped:

SUB LEFT
Red/White +
Brown/Yellow -

SUB RIGHT
Red/Blue +
Brown/White -

As for the oem REM, I'd rather just use the remote trigger at this point, seems like too much hassle for one wire when I could just drop $20 and make it much, much easier.

Nice

I can't really remember what the problem was, but it was on me, not the car. Now I'm tapped in to the cig lighter for my remote, and I haven't had a problem since.
