Being new to BMW, and my new 320ed sat in a compound having being delivered yesterday! I still have a few questions, namely whats the deal with 'ipod out'?

Having seen clips on google etc, is it live yet? Is there a remote chance its lauched yet? If so, is there a chance it'll be on my prof sat nav?

Thoughts/views appreciated

You're right, it is difficult to know exactly what they mean, but I think we do get it with the idrive system, as album artwork is now now on the screen and you no longer need the specific Y-cable to attach to your ipod. But I can't be sure. When I get mine in 2 weeks time I'll let you know.

Clarification from BMW:

Thank you for sending your specification through. Having looked at the list of options it appears that option 6NR has not been specified on the vehicle which is required for the iPod out functionality.

With the list of options you have specified (providing your vehicle has a build date of September 2010 or more recent,) with Professional Media package and USB audio interface you will however still be able to connect your compatible iPhone, select and play music through the iDrive and display album artwork in the Control Display.
