=( soo sad
Damn... I'm probably going to lose my car, guys. I've not been making enough money lately (I'm purely commission), and I'm probably going to be changing careers. The problem with changing careers is that another "entry level" job is going to be a pay cut. A significant one.
So I'm selling my baby, (no, the car!) and looking to pick up something cheaper to pay for, gas up, and insure. Any suggestions? Anything made in Korea is off the list, as is Saturn... well basically any domestic. I'm thinking maybe a Yaris, or a Fit, or a Scion. I dunno. I'm gonna miss TORQUE. Man, this is a bummer. |

Sorry to hear Matt. Really sucks after all that work and money you just put into it. Go for the Scion tC.

Let me be the first ot tell you, the Scion tC is NOT an option. The downgrade is too much and the drive. There is none . The insurance is pretty high too since it's a coupe so it's considered a sports car ( yeah right). Yeah I have one and it makes me appreciate the E90 a lot.
How about a Rabbit? If not, I think I'd rather go for a Honda Fit. I think natureboy can tell you more about that. So that's why you're selling the car. Very sad news You'll be missed! I hope you stick around, we need your BMW expertise and installs in case we ever feel like visiting or something. Good luck bro! |

Sorry to hear it.
Sounds like you're going to the gas-saving extreme. I wonder how much $ it will really save. Compared to a car that gets 30mpg (Civic?), the total cost of operation of a Honda Fit (40 mpg?) or similar will just be the cost of the gas. Insurance and maintenance would be identical. Edmunds would be a good place to visit. Edit: Fit and Civic have pretty similar mpg ratings, but you get the idea. Civic may be a great option. |

I totally understand your situation. I lost my job 1.5 years ago; took me 1 year to find another one and had to take a 40 % pay reduction ! OUCH ! Fortunately for me, I was able to keep the E90 (already paid and since I mostly commute using the train it does not cost too much to drive it).
It's really a pain sometime. As for cars, used Toyota and Honda are the most dependable. Toyota are a bit expensive usually. THe Mazda 3 is a fun car to drive, but more expensive as well new; but don't know about the used market. We have one for the last 3 years and still is in perfect shape ! I guess with any of these three you'll get a good car (Mazda costing a bit more gas wise). Anyway, wish you the best of luck ! :rocks:
