"acoustic confirmations when locking" options not appearing in my iDrive menu??

OK, stupid small question....

I have an 06 E90 330 with iDrive (built last August, bought it 3 weeks ago).

Page 31 of the manual, under the "Setting confirmation signals" for door locking, shows an iDrive screen shot which contains 4 options that you can activate/deactivate:

- Flash when locking
- Flash when unlocking
- Acoustic confirm when locking
- Acoustic confirm when unlocking

However, when I look at this actual menu in my car, I only see the first two, i.e., I have no options for acoustic confirmation.

I am not even sure if I would even LIKE the acoustic chimes (not the car horn, is it?), but I would like to TRY it

P.S., i am not 100% sure I have the version of manual that originally came with the car.....long story, dealer gave me non iDrive manual, so I downloaded the iDrive version from this forum.

Unfortunately, the acoustic confirmation is only possible when you have the oem alarm installed.

yea, u need the alarm, unfortunatly i want the sound too, i also want the blinking clown nose. o well too bad

Thanks guys. Makes sense, i don't know of any external speaker that could even make the chime.

so I guess a stripper jumping up and down saying "your car is locked" ain't stock either

Where did you see her as option. My wife must have grabbed that page.
