Bank Scam?
So this morning I got a call from an unknown number and the person on the phone said they were from bank of america in regards of my credit card. My card was overdue by a few days, she knew how much I owed, last 4 of card and the limit/total owed. I then made the payment online while talking to her and she said it would be best to cancel the transaction and do it over the phone so it goes in this day. I said ok make it happen, she then asked for my routing number (which is where I really got concerned), I asked if shes from BOA why does she need it from me. She put me on hold saying she would have to look it up came back and asked if I was ready to complete it. I told her I had to get off the phone bc I was at work could I get a call back number, and she was trying really hard to not let me get off the phone and wouldn't give me a call back number...
A bunch of things threw up red flags, but how did she know all my CC info? Scam? For your time: |

never pick up from an unknown number....ever. (it will put you in these situations).
It may NOT have been a scam, but you did the right thing...pay online and call it a day. Payments online go in the same day as well (assuming it's before like 3 or 4) |

^^This .. Pay online.
And her tits are fake.. but they move like the real thing. I have been singing the praises of the new titty technology for the last 6 months. It is truly an amazing thing.

since when they call your house if you are only late for a few days??? Don't they WANT you to be late so they can charge you the highest APR possible? I forget to pay sometimes and never receive any calls.

This is typical. That rep gets a "bonus" for every payment she collects. It's in her best interest to close you now, and get your payment now. If you hang up, call back, make a payment online or anything else she doesn't get her commission.

I am issuing a retraction. After doing the research that should have been done before posting. They are real.

If she was this so called rep who gets a bonus for collecting a CC fee, then she WOULD give him a ph number to call back so she can get the bonus when he is not busy at work.
My advice, dont never pay anything over the phone, unless you called the company first.

Fake.
I once had somebody call me from "verizon" who had most of my account information. Basically everything but my credit card and ask me for all my credit card information because my account was overdue. Was pretty good. I was caught off guard as they woke me up from a nap. As soon as they asked me for credit card info I told the guy on the line to fuck him self in the ass with a thorny branch. |

best thing to do, when someone calls in and stating that they represent either a bank or one of your credit card companies, states that:"give me your number when I can reach you back". Then call your bank, and do some investigation whether someone did call or not.
If it is a scam, that person who called you would give you an excuse not to call them back. |

also do they feel real? Quote:
sounds fishy also a few days late on a payment is no big deal and I've never heard of anyone calling for that.. also, switch to online bank statements... no worries of someone getting their hands on that
