Last night my car was vandalized at my house.

I still can't believe it. I came home around 1 AM and was about to go to sleep. I'm pretty sure I wasn't being followed. Around 3 AM some idiots went to my neighbourhood, and it seems like they through three big stones (about eight inches in length) onto my front hood. They missed with one from the looks of it. After the hit they quickly left and accelerated like mad as the exhaust was very loud.

There is also a few small scratches but I'm not sure if that was there before or not.

I heard it clear and was was hoping it was a sound of a knocked down garbage bin or something else. I should of went outside but it wouldn't do much since they were jet as soon as they did the damage. The exhaust sounded like a tuned up Civic but I can't be sure.

I don't think I have enemies. I really don't know what was the reason for this... I am always a humble person and the worst I did with the car was take advantage of its quick acceleration a few times.

This really sucks. But I can't do much about it sadly. Do you think it's best if I get a new front hood or try to fix it? I'm going to the body shop soon to get an estimate. And I will likely hook up a camera system.

I hate when shit like this happens. I think a good body shop should be able to fix that without replacement. This should be covered under comprehensive with your insurance, and shouldn't impact your rates (just other's rates down the road for living in the area).

Sorry to hear and see that.

Did you file a police report? Perhaps the vandalism was done to other cars in your neighborhood as well since you mention it was unlikely you did anything to be targeted specifically.

Sad, I feel for you. It will be easier to just replace the hood IMO.

in a weird way it's kind of good you didn't catch them...I'm sure we are all on the same page where if it happened to our car, and we caught them we could end up in some serious trouble. I know it's just a car, a material item but it this type of behavior makes my blood boil.

I got a quote of $900 to fix everything on the hood and the fenders. Although the fenders are fine, they need to repaint the fenders to blend it in. They are professional and BMW takes their cars there so I think I'll go with that.

Sucks what happened to your car.

A friend parked his brand new EX35 at his Go train station and in the first month, someone ran a key down the entire driver's side of his car.

I just don't know why people would do stuff like this.

Mister John's Auto Collision. They did a nice job when a dealership accidently hit my car in their parking lot.

And as for the hood, will it be cheaper? From what I see a hood is about $700 but repainting it will cost another $500 or so. If anyone can tell me how to make the best of it with links or stores that can do it for me for less than $900, let me know. I will be sending my car in a couple of days if there isn't any other option. Thanks.

If I were you I would make a damage report to police and grab a new hood using the insurance coverage.
