Woohoo, Straight piping my beast!

Just ordered a set of AR Catless downpipes today! Hoping to get them in about a week. I have an appointment next week to look over my car with a specialist at a nearby muffler shop, when I install the DP I'm also going to delete the secondary cats and delete the mufflers to! I'll in essence have completely straight piping from the turbos back.

Very excited to see how loud it actually is and how it sounds!

Its gonna sound sick, you will hear the turbos spool very clearly after you do it. WOT sounds addicting...good luck with it man.

It's either people love straight exhaust or hate it. I personally love the beast sound of straight piped turbo cars. Get a video up when you get it done so we can hear it.

Don't do it. Just listen to the HPF exhaust. Even a $2k straight pipe sounds like shit

+1 on this. Great for weekend/track car but the droning at cruise is gonna kill your hearing (cringe at 6th gear going 60 mph).

I hope you're sure about this, cause it's going to be loud. Too loud for my taste for a daily driver... But post some sound clips when you do this

Go listen to Penn's HPF audio video clip of his new exhaust. Your straight pipes will be as loud, if not louder than the HPF's exhaust. It will sound like a top fuel dragster at idle and drone like hell cruising.

Can I suggest getting high flow mufflers and resonators installed? It will really clean up the sound but not rob you of any noticeable power

Well, I decided to not go through with AR DP and FMIC, I cancelled my order.
Just can't afford spending another 2500 on my car this summer!

I will be deleting secondary cats and deleting the muffler's though. Its a much cheaper compromise and will just give my car that extra umph in sound while running 93V2.02

I'm quite aware how loud it will be, All of my past cars have had muffler delete * civics / preludes * and they were LOUD!...

Excited to hear the 335i, twin turbo straight 6 will sound worlds better then a revy 4 cylinder!

60 is fine, 80 in 6th is the issue. It starts around 75 and doesnt get better until 85...by then you gotta looking for the boys in blue. Kind of a catch 22. Thats why I will be sourcing a resonator shortly. The lack of back-pressure has also taken a toll on cold starts...it cranks a lot longer than it used to. I logged fuel pressure to see if it was the fuel pump but it looks fine. BMW confirmed that it was the lack of back-pressure on startup that was causing the issues. Can someone else with little or no back-pressure confirm this as well?

You make all the wrong decisions. Buy some Raceland downpipes and do NOT delete your mufflers because you will regret it. Price would be about the same but the power gains will be greater and the overall balance will be much better.

You are driving a BMW not a rice rocket.

DP is a better idea than deleting secondary cats and muffler for performance.
