Detailed shots of my Detail

I posted this in the Wax & Detailing area but I'm proud of my little iPhone shots and detailing job so thought I would re-post it here. Spent my last few afternoons off detailing my car. Spent a day washing and the next afternoon doing a Zaino Polish. I ran out of Z6 mid-process so was only able to get one layer of Z5 polish down. I also put together and used my new CRSpotless for the first time. Due to the weather I ran out of time for some wide shots with a real camera. So here are a few detail photos with my iPhone, sorry it was a bit overcast on day two. Nice and mirror shiny Space gray!

Thx! Haha if you mean it's so shiny it looks Sparkling Graphite, I will take that, awesome . Thx. Yeah I was stoked to discover when I ordered the car, Space Gray was available for the 2009 335i LCI. I loved that color on the 6 series.

Thx everyone. It was a therapeutic process...alone with the car for two days. I discovered a few lovely pock marks and accidentally caused some scratching on a little area of the hood trying to get off what I thought was sap...turns out it was a pebble ding and some of the shrapnel rubbed in when I tried to get it off. The Polish did a great job of hiding the subtle scratching. I will look into getting that out someday. Such a small area nobody will know but me. Zaino does a great job!

Looks great! How do you like your CRSpotless? I'm curious to know how well it works and how long the cartridges last.

Thanks. This was my was my first time using my CR. I liked it, I tried to keep the pressure down because I heard it works best if you don't turn the pressure up to high. This was probably my only complaint with it in that you can't get as strong a spray at lower pressures without a pressure washer. It worked out fine though. I'm OCD and literally took the entire first day just washing the car and continually rinsing to not let the water sit to long. I would say it worked at about 97% efficiency given how much water used and how long the water sat. Some of the larger water puddles left some subtle markings, but after a simpler detailing spray and wipe those came right off. And those were only a few on the roof and hood. Other then that it was indeed spotless. Though my water is extremely, extremely hard. So the fact that it even did that well is saying something.
As far as the life of the cartridges I'm not sure as of yet. The reader after an entire day of washing read 005. They say after it reaches 020 that it is time to replace the media in the cartridges. Luckily they give you one refill in the package. I tried to use some big jugs of distilled water from the grocery store to help fill up the buckets without a lot of use of the CR. All in all a great product and purchase.

Haha! Thx for pointing that out . Yeah the car was too mirror and gave away my garage. However it is all drywalled, just needs some paint. With the car around, painting my garage hasn't been a priority hehe. Some day though. First I need to put a backyard in for the wife.

Looks great.

I always wanted to try that brand, but it seems needlessly complicated to me.

Nice job-

You should definitely try Zaino out. Sounds complicated but it is pretty straight forward. Great stuff. Plus you can make it as deep a shine as you like by continuing to add layers.
