Don't have both currently but switched from att to verizon a while ago b/c reception in my area is much better with verizon. Everything else is about the same. Comparing my phone to some of my friends my internet seems to be a little quicker sometimes.

Really depends whats the service like in the area you are in most of the time. Ask people at work/school/neighbors etc.

Its AT&T so that might be a reason you didn't see anything

Verizon has better cell coverage but a little more expensive, AT&T has faster speeds but in limited areas. Depends on where you live for the quality of service you'll get from AT&T.

Customer service is pretty similar

How is Verizon a little more expensive? Att basically mimicks vz's plans. As I recalled Vzw came out with unlimited calling first then att followed after. Att is charging $25 for 2gb of 4g service and Vz charges $29.99 for unlimited 4g. (4gb of data at Att costs $50 and 4gb of data at Vz costs $29.99) Sounds like Vz has better plan. Research before you put out wrong info.

They both suck. From my experiences on most back roads and such I get very weak signal and drop a lot of calls. But when I am in a city it works perfect. I would say if you say in populated areas most of the time go with ATT, if you live in a smaller city or drive though more rual areas go with verizon.

For me, Verizon had way better coverage. Now with AT&T because of other reasons. I prefer Verizon, but it all depends on your area....

Customer service, etc, etc. are about the same.

I had AT&T before switching to Verizon.

VZN is faster in my area. But once VZN came out with the iPhone, it did get kind of slower.

Customer service is a moot point when dealing with apple.

I got a replacement phone but only after 3 days of fighting with apple to prove that I had an apple care warranty.

To which AT&T was just like yeah we've told them we don't know what their issue is

Although the other day I did have no service (the phone said no service) at 14th and 7th.

The middle of one of the most populated cities in the world and "no service"?

REALLY!?

Verizon blows everyone out of the water when it comes to reception. They're expensive, and the customer service is terrible. A good friend has the VZ Thunderbolt and he's getting 35+ MPBS. It's blistering fast.

Yeah Verizon is pretty much good coverage, shit customer service. You go into their store, immediately enter your name onto a computer and wait in line 45 minutes to speak to some high school dropout and beg them to fix or replace your phone.

ATT has always offered me great customer service, but I get shitty reception. I live maybe 50 minutes from NYC. I'm a bit into the woods of northeast NJ (yes, there's woods and farms), but that's still unacceptable so close to a major city. Also, my service fluctuates from 3G to Edge and back in areas i KNOW i should have full 3G coverage. Weird. ATT has generally proven nicer to me in terms of service, though, and they have always been generous with replacements except for Apple items but that isn't in their control. No ridiculous entering my name into a waiting list the second I get into the store, no trying to convince me it's GOOD for my phone to run at 120 degrees F, no bullshit.

Though, the reception problems with ATT might change soon as they seem like they're about to successfully aquire T-Mobile and their entire network (including nationwide 4G framework).

Also, if you're grandfathering into ATT, you can keep the unlimited data plans from days long gone. I'm getting unlimited for 20 bucks a month, vs verizon's 30. ATT offers new customers like 2 gb / month for 25 bucks, and unless you're making hotspots and shit and downloading full movies everywhere you go, this is much more than enough for email, social networking, games, texting, and regular calling.

Had verizon and it was terrible. No signal ever. AT&T had much faster internet and much better reception in my area. I love it and have never looked back from my switch. Plus I often browse the internet while on the phone with people

you in austin and no service with verizon

REALLY?

anyways, verizon is better overall
but if you will be switching phone later on, it will prolly be easier to dump the AT&T iPhone than the verizon one.

For me, it has more to do with my freedom as a customer.

I much prefer GSM to CDMA for the simple reason that I enjoy having a SIM card and the ability to switch phones at my leisure.

Verizon, you pretty much have to take the phone in whenever you want to change.
