Fellas.... I need some help. Install gone bad.

The situation : Installed AR downpipes last night. I have V5 and am running the 1/21 beta maps. Took the car for a quick test drive last night and it seemed to run fine although there was definitely more of what I presume to be wastegate rattle than I had ever heard before. Prior to this I never really heard the rattle that a lot of people complain about. THEN, started the car this morning and is started a little rough. Went for a drive and the metallic clanking sound is incredibly loud. Accellerating, decelerating, you name it. Very loud and very noticeable and continues up the through the rpm band if you are accelerating slowly. Now the car will only run 5 pounds of boost as well. I have very little power. What gives??

If you guys have any advice. Please advise asap. Thanks....

My guess... Didn't clock them right. Not sealed properly. Loss of boost and now they're probably touching each other causing the rattle. Doubt it's your wastegates.

Please go back to the 12-17 maps and you will be good...trust me on this....The newer maps has a bug and makes the wastegates possessed!!!! If this doesnt fix it then the v clamp is making the wastegates stuck...try the uploading the 12-17 maps and if it persist then adjust v clamp

Are the new maps so bad that it would cause all this?!

No they are not bad, but it just works for some cars and some it doesn't...I have tried all the dic maps and it doesn't work with my car at all, but for people that it works for, they seem to be okay with it..

I double checked to make sure I had clearance between the 2 pipes and there was about 1/4". Rotate them any more and they would mate to the midpipes. The v-band clamps are seated and sealed properly. Is there a chance the wastegate actuator can hit the screw on the v-band clamp if it is not rotated or located in the proper location?

the only way is to lift the car and check everything again.

When installing the v-bands can the clamp interfere with the wastegate if not rotated into a certain position?

yes! When I first saw this post, I was thinking that maybe you your wastegate rods were hitting your v-band clamps.

It's must be the clamp or did you remove any bolt and didn't tighten it? The 1-21 map should have no issue with the rattle. Only the 3-30 and up has rattle issues. I don't experience any rattle issue on any of the newer maps but seem like alot of people do. I have the latest firmware from BMW so that might be the case?

I never said they don't work as advertised, but for some cars whatever the reason may be, It doesn't work all that well but when they do I am sure it works beautifully
