Quibids, thoughts?

So, who has heard of Quibids and have any of you experienced doing this yet?

http://www.quibids.com/register/index.php?mb=jpy&lp=35&

I want to start but not sure if its legit. It does say accredited by BBB.

Its a scam, just like all the other penny bid auctions..

See how when your about to leave there is 1000 pop-ups. Gives you a good idea its not a good site.

I dabbled in it for a couple of days a few months ago and think I did better than most would.

Bought $48 worth of bids. Got tired of going after an iPad with hundreds of others bidding but was finally able to win a $150 pair of sunglasses right before may last 5 bids were running out. They charged another $10 for shipping and handling which was a total rip off, IMO.

So, all and all I think I did better than most people but I will never go back there to blow more money. Vegas is a lot more fun for that

It's legit but it's hard as hell to win and you'll be spending a lot more than you think.

It is legit. I spent $60 on bids and won $50 in Home Depot gift cards plus a shit ton more bids (worth $0.60 each) in one day. I still have a bunch of bids left but haven't been on a while. It's sort of an art to be able to win the more expensive items. Generally it takes a lot of time learning about the site and how other bidders think.

I'd say try it out, but don't go too crazy, and don't expect to win an iPad for $3. At least not at first.

I still have 100+ bids left worth $0.60 each. I feel like I'm repeating myself.

the point is still valid, the number of bids you have is largely irrelevant until you buy something. As of this point you've virtually spent $60 on a gift card that can be found for 35-40.

and yes while the WINNING is legit, there's many other things about the site that are not

oh and I missed this before.

for sites like this accreditation means bullshit. it means they pay out. it doesn't mean that they don't have a bot pushing up the bid prices.

One thing I was very wary about when I was bidding. It's impossible to know whether or not it's an actual person. It's the common flaw of all online auction style websites.

all yes, but the big difference with this site is that you're literally losing money every 'fake' bid that comes in. There's several certs etc that could be done that would allow me to take them seriously...

my roommate has won some cool stuff from quibids like a printer and speakers and a lot of other random stuff, but it takes to much time he sits on his laptop all day sometimes trying to win stuff.

Time consuming makes some ppl not do it. Therefore if your dedicated you can do it

it requires a combination of dedication and a bit of stupidity to be honest.

For example, that home depot card, with the same time spent to WIN an auction you could have found a site or a deal that would have offered it to you for 35 bucks. And if you leave the computer for a minute you could have just wasted 20 dollars of bids.

stay far away.

i do agree you can get burned on deals but if you play it smart you can get some really good deals. i haven't personally tried it though but like i said before my roommate plays it really well and gets stuff crazy cheap. He said the best approach is go for things that aren't as popular like ipads or tvs but smaller stuff like games, speakers, movies etc...
