Did any of you jump on the $99 Deal? I scored 6 of them even though hp claims to not be manufacturing anymore tablets or web os devices..


Hp's website now posted this which makes me wonder if they will quit when there is obvious money to be made with so many hp tablets out there now.

Apples future sales for the iPad 2 will sure be hurting as I doubt people will spend another $400 for a device which may be better but not $400 better.

Ehh IDK, An HP spokesperson said Apple singlehandedly took em out of the market for Tablets/Smartphones. It was in yahoo news somewhere if you want to read it

well yeah it was their mistake to think they could compete with the iPad even if it was a better device for the same price.


I have an iPad 2 and I'm looking forward to a new operating system and flash There will be a ton of hackers putting new os such as android on them.

nice find. ordered one for myself. i don't care if it's defunct...that's a beater ipad. and it's got flash.

but, overall, i think this is a sign of things to come. apple is going to put a dominance on the market. windows will always prevail in the third world, but apple is taking over in the first world. i have even fallen victim.

not sure what HP is up to, it was funny that there was internal memo that said it will take some time for people to see the value, they compared it to OSX when it came out, saying it was not perfect and it took a few years for the developers to get on board and the public to see the value. However, that assumed that HP had the long vision and stay power as Steve Jobs had, well HP answered that question last week.

Yeah a cute toy for $100 but it worthless, HP sunk that ship, any developers doing aps for it basically stopped all work last week. I am not sure what all you can do with it today but it has no future value, but is can act like an electronic picture frame.

umm, use it surf the web, check email & an ereader. Exactly what I use an overpriced iPad for. I have an iPhone & I don't play much games or use many apps so this tablet for $100 is the perfect price point IMO.

Anyway, it's sold out now in the link above.

Flash is dead. With Adobe's new HTML 5 tools they have in public beta, not even they can kill it off fast enough..

Hope I was able to help some people to get one from B&N. Also, it won't be dead. Android will run on this soon, programmers are hard at work.. and then everyone will wish they had bought one!

And no, I am not an Android fanboy.. I've never even owned one.. I have a iPhone 3GS and Touch... I just know its potential, and this Touchpad has the hardware specs to run it well...

Ordered 5 through B&N last night around 5, and this morning I got a email saying my order was canceled. Pretty sure more of these $99 will pop-up soon though. Newegg has them for $400 if anyone is interested LOL.

I placed two different orders after midnight. The crazy part is that my friend placed a similar order around the same time and he received the same unable to process message. Hope I get lucky.

I was able to get through to the audit department this morning. I was told there is a backlog on credit card authorizations and that the order is still pending. She couldn't say for sure if I would get one or not, but if you click on your order it will still say "In process: not yet shipped". So at this point it hasn't been cancelled. We'll see what the day brings. PS I rated the product based on the time I spend playing with it in the store.

It's out of stock at most places including B&N. Newegg has it in full price, but I heard that HP is issuing refunds for customers who bought the tablet prior to the WebOS announcement. Not sure if they will do the same if we buy one now at full price.
