where to plug trickle charger in?

i got a trickle charge for my 2008 335xi coupe. i thought the battery was in the trunk so i would connect the charger in the trunk. but the instructions that came with it say to put it under the hood. is that what everyone does?

U have access in engine bay. While facing the car look to the left of the engine and you should see a red cap that is your battery connection.

yeah thats what the instructions say to do with the charger. the wall outlet is just closer to the trunk in my garage i can just buy an extension cord i guess. so there is no way to plug the charger into the trunk?

No if you do connect it in the trunk you risk damaging electrical crap. I believe you can't even hook it up to the positive in the trunk since it has a big ass cover with all kinds of connections.. Its just so simple hooking it up to the front I won't even bother in the trunk.
