*** Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #42: Minimalism ***
Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #42: Minimalism
BACKGROUND: I hope this won't be too challenging for you guys. I figured it would be an interesting theme, because it makes you pay close to attention to detail and composition. THEME: Take a photo with strong, clean, simple shapes, lines, objects that are very pleasing in an uncluttered, non-confusing kind of way. I hope that makes sense. Simple primary colors, smooth non-textured surfaces are great for minimalism. You can also have landscapes with a single object far away in the background, something abstract, varying colors, contrast, etc. Good luck! IMPORTANT DATES: Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Sunday, September 25th @ 11:59 PST. Voting begins the following day and ends on Friday, September 30th. RULES: 1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome. 2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image. 3. One submission per contest, and you cannot resubmit a photo that you've submitted before in a previous contest. 4. Images must be no larger than 800 px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 800 px for the poll. 5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost). 6. All images must have a title. 7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

I would have to agree with the others, bluespeed... that doesn't really show minimalism, not to mention the photo itself is way too big (needs to be under 800 px)!
If you need some ideas or help, there are some good sites explaining minimalism as it pertains to photography, and they include some excellent examples: http://www.photopoly.net/understandi...n-photography/ http://www.digital-photography-schoo...in-photography http://photo.tutsplus.com/articles/c...t-photography/ Hope that helps! btw, nice shots Mark and Dave.

I think it's classic. I know water and sand, but this really pulled my eyes in to study the textures.
...or is it water and water?

I thought water and sand, but I can't wrap my mind around the scale. Very high aerial shot or something on a much smaller scale?
