P2AAF (Fuel pump plausibility) code with Cobb AP.

Hey folks, my car has been throwing the P2AAF code (fuel pump plausibilty) eversince I installed the AP two weeks ago. Is this a common issue, or is my recalled hpfp going south? The cars pulls like a mad ape, with no hick ups nor long cranks. No cels or limp modes at all. I can beat on it all day long, and still don't get any limp modes. The car is super smooth, pull after pull with no issues, besides the damn code that keeps coming back. So is anyone else having the same issue? I would love to hear from you, thanks a lot.

Yep a lot of us are throwing that code. Doesn't seem to mean the car is unhealthy in any way though.

mine throws it too. if you look at the log cobb has a low value of 625 for pressure. mine usually runs 600 at idle. no reason to be alarmed.

By itself the code isn't a cause for alarm. When it pops up along with some other code is concerning.

Checked my car randomly today for any codes and saw that I had this code. Is this a bug? If so, has the firmware been updated to address it?

I've gotten it since I've been tuned. Both Cobb and JB4. No issues from what I've been told.

Ive had this code ever since I have installed my Cobb AP...Car is still running strong without any issues

BUT it does always keep me worried in the back of my head that the fuel pump is dying or on its way out...

That’s weird, I was code free until I started messing around with E85 and the Cobb E30 maps. I hope it’s not LPFP related

I also notice it only with E85 usage. I got it this morning just after two 2000-6000 WOT pulls in third gear. I'm running a mildly agressive (18 psi but not lots of extra timing) PTF E20 map. Didn't get this code earlier in the week during adaptations, grocery store "runs", etc. It looks like my LPFP dipped down to about 43 psi during the run, adn the HPFP dipped down to about 2200 psi. Anyone have any ideas?

I get this fault code stored when I run 30% ethanol, but never saw it when I was running 20% -- though I was on a less aggressive map on the 20%.

I wouldn't be too worried about this fault on it's own. I see this code on a lot of stock cars. BMW even has a service bulletin stating not to worry about it unless there are other fuel system related faults stored. As long as your AFR and fuel trims look good, I wouldn't be worried. It is a sign that you might be reaching the limits of the stock in-tank pump, though.

I had this with my cobb tune, but with some hesitation sometimes. A new lpfp sensor resolved it.

Strangely I have no hesitation. I cleared the codes and they haven't come back.
I'm wondering if I should get one step colder plugs perhaps?
