Are AA not coming out with an N54 Turbo upgrade?

As per title, I have read about other tuners coming out with a Turbo upgrade for the N54 e.g. TD, RB, Vishnu. What about AA? I would have thought this sort of upgrade would be right up there ally?

AA is out of the loop for N54 stuff it seems. They focus more on the e9X M3. Their tune is very conservative, no resale, and is very expensive.

They may revisit the N54 because of the 1M but I think we can conclude they've moved onto other things for the most part.

AA has copied many products, it's common knowledge.

Examples? They supercharged an E90 M3 long before anyone else? FMIC was one of the first few on the market, early with catless dps, and their processor was out (excede) together with Vishnu (also excede @the time) then moved on to the ap2. A fairly simplistic piggy, that oh btw makes the same power as a procede w/out meth. I've compared 2 cars same mods on the same dyno, same day. They continue to focus on improvement of their products, and always push forward. Who else uses hks superchargers? Who else used/uses rotrex? Who else builds 1000-1200whp E46 M3s just to say they can? Yes hpf does after the fact but....
edit: Who else had the N55 tuned 3 months ago, conservative or not, it's a true tune.

Took almost a day until we found something new to bicker about I'm so proud of us!

OP wait and see if AR's turbos are any good. You already have RB, TD, Helix, ASR, etc to choose from.

Examples?
E36 Jim Conforti software copied
UUC short shifter copied
ECIS intake copied
Eurosport/Conforti Lyshom supercharger unit copied - no longer sell this.
Burger Motorsport Tune copied into a different box - no longer sell this.

All these products came out before the AA ones and were then copied.

BMS has had a tune for the N55 for a while now.

Some of their 'hardware' is done very well; their exhaust systems are perfect. I have run several of them.

Softwarewise, I don't think they do a good job compared to the competion in the BMW aftermarket. I have run their software and it felt "off". Probably due to reverse engineering.

Great off topic.
You are worried about stuff being copied and you are rolling around on a JB4 and a whole laundry list of parts that have been copied from other manufacturers. Get real. This is modding this isnt about who got to the swing set first. Grow up.

Companies can make their own FMIC, DPs, etc. That's not what my post was about; blatant copying.

I post reality....sorry if that offends you.

Hardly offensive. More like who cares and lastly why do you run a JB4? You do know that stemmed from the PROcede right--- Terry Tuner--> Jb1--Jb2---Jb3 Just dont be a hypocrite.

If Vishnu started with a Labonte (sp?) unit, how did Terry copy it when the JB+/Terry Tuner was basically a modified SSTT?

I came on this forum in 2009 and have not read through all the BS finger pointing by all camps that may or may not be true. Sorry, I don't have time.

What do you have that specifically states that Terry COPIED a Procede unit? Other than what Vishnu claims? From what I know, Terry never took a Procede unit and "tweaked" it. Like others have (see earlier post).

yeah, because someone making N54 downpipes can make them any different than anyting on the market. What a stupid comment...
Have you looked at the CP-e DPs btw? Who else has the "bellmouth" fitting at the top. No one. Keep reaching.

With all due respect, digging up spoiled milk between the PROcede and JB line up is just not necessary. There is plenty of information on here if you choose to find interest in learning about it. These wars go back even before I was a member circa 2007, however, I did my reading.

In the meantime I dont think its necessary to point fingers at copying. It sounds like you may have some unresolved tension between AA on a personal level? I really just dont see the relvance of the abusive nature and constant spamming over a simple question about if they are making upgraded turbo's.

People are in the industry to make money and offer many choices, some very similar, at different price points, quality, and customer service. There are only so many ways to tune a vehicle for power, or route downpipes to your cat back exhaust. I guess everyone is copying someone

If you dont like AA cause they supposedly copied parts over the years, I can give you a few more hundred companies that copy parts also?

What I'm trying to say, again, with all due respect is what will your points do for the community? Are they going to stop buying their products cause you say the copied them? I'm just trying to be civil here as every thread turns into garbage around here lately.

Oh and btw agency power has a bell mouth housing on their downpipes too. Maybe not for this car but they can do it.
We are a community and supposed to help each other.

I like how you keep beating around the bush chap.

Vishnu and Labonte? Wrong its haltech interceptor which is the most prestigious in the tuning industry. Do some research.

Modified SSTT? Again, do your research, in fact just search Terry tuner and see where it stems from. In fact here is a hint Shiv himself helped Terry produce his Terry tuner even telling him the proper equipment to use to make it work.

By the way, I like how you keep avoiding your using a copied tune. From what you know you dont know much it seems.

Can I mention the half a dozen bells and whistles the BMS camp has copied? Please! The list goes on. You parts list in your signature is just as bad as anyone elses in terms of copying. But atleast I can say this, nobody cares!

Thanks for taking this thread off topic and posting irrelevant topics that just derail a thread. Welcome to e90.

Jeff,

I was not trying to dig up Procede JB dirty laundry, quite the opposite. The other poster brought that up.

I use to be in this industry and realize there is quite a bit of copying, I just really dislike the blatant copying of products. No axe to grind.

Quote:

I was referring to the N54 platform.

FastbimmerN54,

Haltech, yes, I was wrong....I crossed the two companies, but that's what I meant.

seems like your the one with a serious JB axe to grind. Lemme guess, you run a Procede?

Hint? Ok, sure....again it depends on what camp your in that determines who you believe.

I left the JB Procede argument alone because it has been beaten to death.

Conforti came from BMW itself and some Dinan experience. He is a clone himself haha.

JB or any other piggyback is not a tune, it's a fancy resistor pack... Reverse engineering is the easiest and most efficient way to "crack" any DME. Start with how it's tuned and work backwards. It's quite common, I'd venture to say more so than not.

As for the other things, there's only so may ways to create a short shifter, down pipes etc.... To each their own. I'd love to donate a 135 test car to them for single turbo development (if you're watching hit me up 😄) but I know their all about the N55 these days...
