Someone broke into my car and alarm didnt even go off?

Unfortunatly had to wake up to this today

Some ****ing **** smashed the back window and swiped a bag off my back seat (the one i use for uni, had all my work so far in along with my rail/oyster cards!)

But the alarm didnt even go off? havent had the car long but i would have thought my stuff would have been abit safer in this then that?! Has something been turned off or something?

any help appreciated.

It probably only sounds for 30 seconds and resets?

That sucks sorry, but the reports are that our alarm only gets activated when the motion sensor gets tripped which can takes up to 20 seconds. You would think a high class manufacture would include sensors for glass and body.

No help whatsoever and probably a twattish comment but unfortunately,if you leave a bag on a back seat, that's the outcome.
The only thing I would say is have a walk about the vicinity as you're bag and contents will have probably been discarded if its of no value.

Wankers

But unfortunately smack heads will take any opportunity.

Best not to leave things on show. Crap situation to be in, hope they sort it for you soon!

very true. it was only a small bag cant really see the appeal of it myself. im just annoyed that i didnt hear a thing!! the factory alarm on my old golf would have gone off

picked up a window for £25 on ebay and fitted it straight away and railcards have been replaced for free so isnt too bad just need to buy a new bag !

ill be getting the rears tinted so should make it abit safer

Obviously it's not the bag it's what could have been in it. I don't even leave a coat on display just in case some scrote thinks it might contain his bus fare home.

thats rediculous!! so does the car actually have interior sensors as in my golf mk4 even leaving the window open on a windy day would set the alarm off

Still the odds of there being anything useful in there are slim (if you saw the bag) reguardless the lesson has been learnt there anywhom as i say im more annoyed that the alarm didnt go off as least i could have jumped up and chased the **** down the street and retreived my property!

That sucks ! But make sure to get rid of all the glass pieces, it might cut more damage on your leather seat, paint...or you! It happened to my convertable w/alarm as well. It doesn't always go off.

Just to check - you're not pressing the lock button twice are you?

On a BMW this disables the movement sensors (to leave kids / dogs inside), but on most other makes of cars you usually have to press twice simply to deadlock the vehicle.

Defo don't leave anything in the car on view, our neighbours had their Micra broken into for the 50pence piece parking money she had by her handbrake.

Same thing happened to my friends M5, they took his gym bag so the robber got a whole bag of muscle supplements, now he's gonna get jacked up!

The alarm is also a concern for me too. I even wonder do I even have an alarm, two incidents occurred that I have left a window 1/4 of the way open for 9 hours and I work at the jail and we park publicly. Never a good situation when the inmates are released and decide to snoop around.

That's why I made this. It's a DEI adjustable shock sensor that has an in-line plug and play harness that hooks into our OEM alarm brain in the rear dome light. Problem solved

No cutting and splicing, just plug the oem harness into this and then this harness into the brain. Came out pretty clean for a DIY.

Is that right!!!!!! Feck me, I've been doing this every time as, like you said, deadlocks the car on every other marque I've come across. I will keep that one in mind and only hit the button once from now on.

Just unlocked and locked the car 'Once' from the safety of my living room

No faults what so ever. It simply exists in-line and triggers the hot wire if it detects a shock.
