Inner edge tyre wear query?

Hi, can someone please tell me what constitutes a tyre fail with respect to visible tread? I have a couple of front tyres that have NO visible tread on the inner edge but 6mm thread everywhere else.

Just like you said.

No visible tread on ANY part of the tyre makes it illegal, no matter that you have good tread elsewhere.
