wut rpm u shifting?

for 335 sedan with steptronic . using the steptronic wut rpm u guys gona up gear from gear1 to 2 and 2 to 3? some of my friend say they change gear 1 to 2 at 6500rpm because that is more faster than 7900rpm change gear. do u believe that? maybe u guys could not understand wut am i saying right here. does the short shiftering exist on 335 steptronic?

the redline on the 335i is 7000 rpm

there is no shortshift for steptronic. and shifting at 6500 instead of 7000 because of transmission-speed sounds a bit far fetched (although shifttimes varies with rpm and program (Drive, Sport and Manual) - i don't think there's a difference to speak of between 6500 rpm and 7000).

however, shifting at a certain rpm because you want to land in a special point on the powercurve to have max. momentum is another story. but the 335i has max. torque from 1300 to 5000 rpm and horsepower builds as rpms climb all the way up to 5800 rpm, where horsepower begins to fall off again. i don't see why they would shift at 6500 if they want to shift anywhere else than 7000..

Yeah, no reason to shift so high. I'm a real "racing-car driver" (not reallY) and I would not suggest shifting at any speed at or over 7000rpm...i bet the computer won't even let you.

Just drive in DS mode - seems that does really well for getting the potential of the car from the pedal to the road.
