I've seen in some pictures, people have sat nav that splits, navigation (full map) on the right and music choice etc on the left. Do you need a software upgrade for this? Whilst using navigation, if i go to entertainment to select cds etc, i only get the arrows on the right not the full map.

My car is an 08 335d btw if that matters.

I think you can set it to perspective etc. but when you come to a junction, turning it will change to arrows.

It has been a while since I've done it. Two options. Either select perspective view for the sat nav. Or
Push the idrive to select the right screen and press down. I think this will give you the choice of information.

I have mine this way all the time,just selelct navigation in large pane,then, view map in direction of travel in right hand pane,this should give both panes navigation view the just pull down on idrive controller to give you entertainment,viola! Mines 07 ccc nav.

There is an option within idrive menu for split screen on my car. Map is then on left and you can select whatever you like on right eg entertainment menu. At a junction the right half will temporarily be replaced by turn arrows.

mine is split but there are no entertainment options on the small side, only arrows/journey comp etc
