Location of 6 disc cd changer on a E92?
Morning forum,
A quick question about the location of the 6 disc cd changer for a E92. I had a E60 and the changer was located at the rear of the glove box, and accessed via an opening. When I p/x'd my E60, I took out the changer, with the intention of fitting it to the E92. My question is please, where does the cd changer sit on a E92? Is it in the same place as the E60 (rear of glove box) or does it sit in the boot somewhere or under seat? Also, I assume that the wiring required will be in place, tucked away somewhere and it will be a simple case of fixing the changer in place and plugging it in .... or is it? Thanks in advance .... T

Tom,
Many thanks for the prompt reply. Are you saying that yours came with the cd player fitted from new and that it is fitted in the rear of the glove box, as it was on my E60? If this is the case, will look at refitting it tomorrow and hopefully shouldn't be too painful ... T

My early morning typing skills are apparently woefull lol
That should have read "in the boot on the left hand side" Not, it should not be in the glove box on the e92 Tom |

The wiring may or may not be there, but it wont just plug in and work. The car will need coding, either at a dealer or a good independent, to 'recognise' that a changer had been added

Actually if you do have the loom then it needs to have the MOST block changed around so the cd changer is in the Main distribution block.
And then the car will need coding. 30 mins labour. And If I remember correctly, on the coupes you will need to buy more trim, so you have a flap etc.
