New: Procede Revlimiter, Dedicated PWM meth I/O, Maps, Meth Pump & Black Friday Sale
Hi guys,
We are all very happy at the new Aggressive maps are so well-received. So well received that we are hesitant to make many changes to it. But we rarely can leave good enough alone. So we added some more goodies. Here's an update on a few things that will be released this Friday: New User Software (v5.32) Same as old software but with a new feature: New Feature: 6AT/6MT Hard Rev Limit (Rev3 only) This feature solves the issue of accidentally brushing agains the factory rev limit, causing a throttle blade closure, boost dump, and bog. So instead of having a 7000rpm soft rev limit, the Procede introduces a lower hard rev limit at whatever engine speed you request. For the vast majority of applications, setting this value to 6700rpm will do the trick. Now when you lose traction (and or fail to shift fast enough) and run into the rev limit, you won't bog and discharge all your boost. Instead, you will hear bap-bap-bap-bap. Boost will stay constant. Throttle will stay open. And you will know it's time to shift. And when you shift, boost will be there, the throttle blade will be wide open and you will pull hard and bog-free. This will work with or without NLS (no-lift shift). Here are catalogs showing this feature in action as tested on a 6MT running only DCI and PWM meth. First, here is a datalog of a 2-3-4th gear run intentionally brushing against the rev limit in each gear: You can see the throttle blade start to close at 6800rpm despite the throttle pedal being held at WOT. By 7000rpm, the throttle is closed and boost is fully discharged. And upon the upshift, the turbos need to spool up from scratch again (0psi). Looking specifically at the 3rd to 4th gear shift: It takes 0.9 seconds for boost to hit the boost target once WOT is applied. And with the Procede's Hard Rev Limit in place (set to 6700rpm): The throttle blade closely follows applied throttle (throttle pedal) and no longer closes once the hard rev limit is reached. Boost remains on target (~16psi in this case) as well instead of dropping to 0psi. And when the full-lift shift occurs, the actual throttle blade only closes partially, allowing for ~6psi to held through the shift. Since boost is never fully discharged, it takes only 0.35 seconds for boost to hit the target after the 3-4 shift: As always, for those running PWM meth, injection DC% will change as a function of boost/throttle blade angle/ignition state/etc,) So you will not suffer from meth-induced bogging/misfire/etc,. NOTE: This feature is also useful for 6AT applications as it prevents the automatic upshift that occurs when you hit the factory rev limiter. This means that you won't accidentally double-shift which is a pretty common problem for high hp applications where 6AT transmissions tend to get a little sloppy and slow to react to user inputted upshift requests. New Procede 11-25 v5 Aggressive Maps/Firmware As far as mapping goes, the Stage 1 map has been tweaked to target slightly lower ignition advance values above 6000rpm. This should resolve the timing drop out that otherwise stock cars are seeing at high rpm when running on 91oct. Stg 2 and Stg3 maps will remain unchanged. As far as firmware goes, it will simply enable the Hard Rev Limit feature discussed above. New Rev3 Specific Firmware for PWM Meth kit users To keep things simple during the release of the Aggressive maps and PWM meth kits, we did not take advantage of the new Rev3's extra input/output channel for PWM meth control. Which is why we instructed people to install the PWM meth kits just as they would if they ran a Rev2/2.5 (i.e., extracting the road speed delimiter wires and re-using them for PWM meth control). This worked fine but it effectively disabled their speed delimiter feature. Well, this new firmware update will bring that back. As the firmware documents will explain, you will simply re-install the road speed wires you originally extracted from the Procede harness. And now you will use two other wires in your harness for PWM meth control. Very simply update. Pics and detailed info will be provided along with the firmware when released this Friday. Please note that this is completely optional. If you are a Rev3 user and you are happy the way you are (with speed delimiter feature disabled) you don't have to run this specific Rev3 firmware/make this wiring change. Black Friday Sale -$400 off Procede Rev3 (complete will 2-step/NLS/rev limit relay)+PWM Meth kit COMBO -$200 off Procede Rev3 (complete will 2-step/NLS/rev limit relay) -$200 off PWM Meth kits for those who purchased a full price Rev3 Procede within the last 60 days. And for or those who took advantage of the $345 Rev2->Rev3 upgrade special, $100 off PWM Meth kits. Also worth mentioning that our NEW proprietary methanol pumps are now equipped with rubber o-ringed high quality compression fittings instead of usual plastic push-on fittings. A newly revised motor head design also means that they are also now rated at 1.3g/min instead of 1.0g/min. We will have online order links up starting tomorrow at midnight and will remain active until Monday. Happy Holidays guys Cheers, Shiv Last edited by OpenFlash; 11-22-2011 at 06:00 PM.. |

Anyone thinking about a tune should definitely consider the Procede with PWM meth. That is ALL I have on my 335i, and I can't praise it enough. The amount of tuning available to you or the amount of screwing around you DON'T have to do is just unbelievable. Now I have to get an NLS kit and update the maps to 11-x aggressive!!

I have a 6AT and after talking to you guys it didn't seem like Rev 3 would offer me a lot so I just upgraded to rev 2.5. I am interested in PWM but it there doesn't seem to be any special that I qualify for.
Is there any Black Friday sale for PWM for those who upgraded to rev 2.5? I vote for $100 off PWM. |
