Bit of a noob question - throttle on N52 323i

The 323i with a 6M is pretty brisk in the acceleration department (feels pretty close to the 328i xdrive 6M I test drove). With that said, not sure if I am somehow missing something, but the car seems to accelerate faster at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle versus full throttle???! Anyone else find these cars are like this? Thanks
