Opening a headlight

Would it be best to use the \"baking\" method to get it
Open, or use a heat gun?

I carefully pried mine open with a heat gun and flathead. The housing plastic (unlike the lens plastic) becomes pliable when heated, so you're best off going around the headlight a few times, lifting the housing 'flap' a bit more with each pass. Finally when it's more or less 70-80 degrees from horizontal, you can work your way under the inside of the housing/lens connection with the flathead to break up the glue connection. Once this is done, it will come apart. Once apart, you'll need to clean every last bit of left over glue, and use the heatgun to reform the housing flaps to original state (several mm apart). Test fit the lens by snapping it in without any glue, it should be a tight fit all around. Then you can reseal.
