Driver's door creaks

My 2011 E90 328xi with 16K miles is running fine. But I am noticing that my driver's door is creaking. Anyone else experiencing this?

What type of creak, metallic, rubber on rubber? If you look around the door you will find copious amounts of rubber used to seal the doors. You may be able to solve the issue by using a little gummi pflege on the seals.

My sedans tend to sound like a clown making balloon animals if I don't treat the seals often (3 months or so).

I had the same problem the best thing to do is take WD-40 and wipe the door seal (the fuzzy part) don't be afraid to take that crap off just try not to touch any other rubber pieces. Then take a wet paper towel and clean the gap where the window goes near the top. And don't stop till the paper towels are clean. You should hear where the sound is coming from by pushing on the glass with the door closed. Worked for me on all 4 doors.

the lubricant they use is Gummi-Pflege, the stuff is awesome. I keep some in the garage its only about $7. It quiets noisy seals and all sorts of other things.

sometimes the door interior wood molding will make creaking noises when your knee pushes against it. you can pull the molding, coat the mounts with some Gummi and it will also stop that noise...

I thought I read somewhere that BMW no longer sells that lubricant. Any truth to that? Did you buy it recently from a dealer?

BMW sells something called Sliding Agent (PN 83230309627). I bought some online and its extremely expensive. (I think it was like $35 or $40 for a 1.75 ounce tube). I have actually never used it so I cannot say if it works or not.

However, the Einszett Gummi Pflege i found on amazon.com works great and is cheap. I applied it once to all my seals several months ago and have had no creaks since. I highly recommend it.

http://www.amazon.com/einszett-91480...2609722&sr=8-1

Otherwise, I would strongly recommend staying away from any thing that is petroleum based, silicone based, or has any wax in it as this will just make it worse or damage the rubber seals.

I was looking at the Einszett gummi pflege safety data sheet on there site and it contains Polydimethylsiloxane. Looking up this compound on the always trustful wikipedia, I find and I quote:

"Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) belongs to a group of polymeric organosilicon compounds that are commonly referred to as silicones."

Since I'm not a chemist can someone else clarify if the Einszett product has silicone and does it really make a difference. I know that the owners manual says not to use any products that are silicon based.

Was that confusing enough.
