I just moved this weekend and it didn't go well...

Chewy go ahead and make the new one for me if you can. Theme is: In-between Places. I want work inspired by the style that Uta Barth did for that series of her work. maybe show some reference images in the 1st post too so everyone gets the feeling.

Uta Barth? The Queen of OOF?

If I live to be a hundred years old, I'll never understand two things: jazz and art. Some jazz sounds like a bunch of non-musicians found instruments and try to play them. And some art seems like so much junk to me, yet art critics drool over it. There's the kind that looks like some kids flung paint at a wall, and the kind where some dude paints two squares. And then there's Uta Barth, whose work looks to like examples of bad photography, yet people go ga-ga over her stuff.

So I find a nearly dead flower, stick it in a vase, set it on my kitchen counter near the window, and take an OOF picture of it. Right? Sounds simple enough.

just make sure it's so out of focus, that we can't tell it's a dead flower... a vase, or even a kitchen counter.

Mark I know what you're saying and usually I'm not big on "fine art" but I honestly like a lot of the simplicity in Barth's work. It's not work based around big complex concepts but rather shapes, lines and light in everyday life. Not all her work is OOF just this series, but she does have a style that is apparent throughout her work.
Personally I thought it would be nice to do a theme that was fairly open to interpretation. If people just go shoot OOF junk it won't look good. The trick is for the focus to distorted for a reason, to show us something more that what is on the surface.
