If the CTS-V wagon can sell, this definitely will too

Audi sells a lot of hot wagons, Mercedes has always sold a C63 wagon in Europe, so selling a Black Series would hardly be a novelty, it's a shame BMW never had the balls to do an M3 wagon, it's a missed opportunity if you ask me.

Interesting...a track-oriented wagon...I love the idea but I'd probably opt for the "vanilla" AMG model instead.

Semi sleeper.

I like it. Hope the rear side glass blends when revealed.

Just my opinion. The more I look at the coupe the more the lines just don't do it for me. Something seems to be missing.

I feel that MB is taking the Black Series badge everywhere now, which is a shame imo. Yes it is good.. but if every model has a Black Series, than it will do the same as BMW with the M badge.

They've already whored out the AMG badge. ///M is doing the same albeit at a slower rate.

Honestly, I don't think they had or will have that many.
SLK 55 BS (not in America)
C 63 BS Sedan(planned),Coupe,Wagon
CLK 63 BS

Compared to

BMW is pretty prolific, but they still make damn good cars. I actually wouldn't mind more Black Series models, not enough of the AMG line is really "special" enough

You're correct. They only produce specific models over certain periods of time and they are also limited in production (and according to the MBUSA AMG product managers in NJ, the new C63 Black is fully allocated. Good luck ordering one.)

As far as "whoring out" the AMG badge, they don't "whore out" the badge. They do sell AMG labeled wheels and offer an AMG sport package for non-AMG models. Just like BMW does with their M sport package on their non-M models. And just like BMW doesn't put on the M badge on the trunk lid or fenders of a non-M car, Mercedes doesn't affix the AMG badges on non-AMG cars.

I had a 330i with little M labels everywhere because it was the M sport package. I had an E350 sedan with the AMG sport package (it was the only way they came into the US at the time.) It had AMG only labeled on the wheels and nowhere else. My current E63 AMG had trunk lid and fender AMG badges which I took off. And except for the wheels and exhaust tips, it now only says AMG inside the car (speedometer, door sills, seats, and floor mats.) It looks almost like a basic E350.

Good call, I rushed the original post. But the M5 CSL was made, although only one was made. Not what you'd call a production model.

Coupes are all sold out??!! Looks like I'll wait for a used one since apparently the Wagon is not coming here.

The allocations are gone. It doesn't mean you might not see one for sale at a dealer (esp if it's an AMG Performance Center dealership.) Basically what was said was this: US allocations haven't been set in stone yet but are much lower than what MBUSA had hoped to get. The odds that the car is sold out already is very high. The majority of dealers will never see one.

The numbers are very low for the US and equally low for Germany, too. Asia will get a fair number but those are apparently sold.

btw, the SLS will end as a normal Mercedes model cycle which is 7 years. No new one, and no face-lift version. According to AMG the SLS will no longer be produced after that.

Damn, SLS will be a classic in the future then! Yeah I will keep my eyes peeled for a C63 BS in the dealers although they will most likely be sold. I have never wanted a car as badly as I do this one. Dear Santa....

I can wrap my head around this....you can see how unimpressed she is in the front seat of an F250.

Not even close and especially compared to the M badge as other posters have already pointed out.

Intersting points. No disrespect, but where are you getting your intel from?

I had this discussion again last week with my dealer and they still had zero clue what was going on with this car...lol. They do have several deposits already even though there is no guarantee the car is even available or what the price tag will be. It certainly doesn't look good for the coupe.

Maybe I can be first in line for the wagon...lol.

It came directly out of the mouths of the AMG product managers in NJ during a discussion with current AMG owners who are potential buyers.
