Aftermarket Alarm

Ladies and gents, do any of you have an aftermarket alarm installed in your E90s? I'm looking for one with a car starter and shock sensor (ex: compustar), but not certain if it will have adverse effects on the startup process. Or should I just go with the bmw alarm?

I went with the Viper 5000 (didn't go with the remote starter option). I believe the 5900 has the remote starter and shock sensor. Give Ronnie a call @ http://www.uvisions.ca/ (905.660.0411). They do all kinds of customization. Alarms, Stereos, Light Kits, Lambo Doors etc...

Sorry that's assuming you are in the Centre of the Universe (Toronto)....

I always thought Remote Starts are not recommended or work w/ most German cars?

John,

Thanks for the link, I took my 335 to a few places to get an alarm installed and none of them wanted to even touch the car.

Ronnie did say that the car is currently black listed (because it's so new and because the alarm has to interface with the existing computer). It took them the better part of the day but they got it installed. My only issue is that the lights don't flash when I arm the alarm (no biggie for me as the remote provides the current status of the system).

Was that just for the alarm? I'm wondering if anybody would mind doing some system installs.

I only know about the alarm. I'm sure in a year (or maybe less) shops will be more familar with the car and will be more willing to work on it. Like I said give Ronnie a call they have done a couple of 335s.
