My neighbour has a 645ci. He had a E60 530d, but now he is in his 2nd childhood so he got the 6er. I like the model, but I prefer a Mercedes SL because of the looks(not the driving).
Still a great car a 6er. I think the oncoming E92 wil look more like a E90(80%) and 20% 6er. |

Wannabe: That's what they SHOULD have done with the e90 sedan. Just take the 6 as inspiration and re-configure it for the 3. Unreal to me that they had the answer and instead felt like they had to re-invent the wheel once again. I believe if they had designed the e90 after the 6 there would be very little of the e90 bashing. The styling would have been wicked cool.
Great thought. Drive fast. sparky |

If I were BMW, you've gotta think that the G35 sedan and coupe is the current platform to beat. They decided to make the e90 sedan look more conventional because they want the 3-series loyalist happy. Haven't you seen the magazine headlines...they love how the 3-series sedan hasn't been "Bangled" too much.
But, they have to do something different to the coupe because the G35 coupe's shape and performance is unmatched right now. So if I were BMW, I would make the e90(e92) coupe compete directly with the G35 coupe...and make the e90 M3 a class of its own again...showing once again that the German's can piss farther. BMW can make the coupe look like the 6-series without having to really bump up the price...it would be just cosmetics. They can take the current e46 M3's engine and bump the displacement a bit...that would be the 335Ci. Eshamas21...I don't get my info from anywhere...I just make things up...or guess at the next logical move. Although, to think about it again...maybe they could offer a 330Ci and a 335Ci...or a 325Ci and a 335Ci. I don't know which one would be a better move for BMW. BTW, daddy likey the photoshop. |

They wouldn't bother doing a 325 and a 335. The gap is too big. The 6 Series is a much more sporty car than the 5, both being the same platforms. But the 6 costs much more. If they are going this route, that is to compete directly with cars like the G35 Coupe, then it would be silly to even offer a 325. Those wanting to save the extra bucks would just buy a 325i, where they get 4 doors as well. |
