Steering wheel damage

My coat zip brushed against the steering wheel and its left some mild damage which feels rough when my hand slides as the steering wheel is turned. Is there anyway to soften this damage on the steering?

Thanks

Try using Gliptone leather cleaner/conditioner. It worked to smooth out the edges in my old car when it got a scratch on the leather seat.
