USB option on 2007 cars

Does anyone know if a USB port was an option on a September 2007 E92 335i?

Garage List
Yes.

The USB audio option (6FL) was available at this time. Had it fitted to my July '07 built E91.

I had it fitted to my August 2007 E92 too (pre-LCI) as an option. It doesn't work that well without the Sat Nav though.

Thanks for the info guys.

According to one salesman, while showing me a car that didn't have a USB connection, it wasn't an option at that time.

You need a few things to get this retrofitted...

* 65 41 0 445 465 USB/audio interface retrofit (from BMW)
* MULF 2 (HIGH) with USB (goes in boot, under the carpet, right side..)
* Car coded by BMW or Indy for USB
* Fit it yourself or pay for the service (£110)

I have just purchased the first item for £250...

MULF 2 should be coming later this week, £120....

Car coding.... £50 quid..

I prefer this option for USB/IPOD than Dension 500, factory fit and better for resale.....

Hope this helps.

I was making enquiries about the Dension 500 just before Christmas because my 2010 M Sport Plus doesn't have USB, the general consensus of opinion from the installers I spoke to was that they wouldn't recommend it. When it works it's very good but whether it works was all a matter of luck

Very useful info, but I was asking for another reason.

I've been having some serious issues with the car recently and, if it comes to it, I want to have as much ammunition as possible. It might seem like a tiny thing, but the dealer swayed my decision on whether to buy the car by giving me false information about the USB option.

Hopefully I won't need to resort to such petty arguments, but my experience with BMW customer services so far suggests it might end up being necessary. I won't go into details of the issues yet as it's still in progress.
