Intake Manifold Question...

I had to pop off the intake manifold to replace the oil filter housing gasket.

It would have been a pain to put 6 new gaskets on the manifold and BMW wanted 50.00 for 6 0-rings.

So, long story short, I didn\'t change them.

Could this cause any problems, if so what??

Thanks

Potentially a vacuum leak. If you cleaned the gaskets and surface well you might be alright.

So is this something I will get a warning light or notice rough engine? Or will I just wreck something??

The gaskets looked in good shape, yes they have 80k on them, but not flat, cracked, etc..

Also, noticed in "carbon cleaning" posts, I didn't see where any of them told u to replace the gaskets...???

So, I am guessing it can't be too huge of a deal....

If it was significant you would get a CEL. Since the motor would be ingesting air post MAP sensor it would create a lean condition on one of the engine banks (and the opposite when in boost). If you notice a high idle (outside of cold start) that would also be an indication of a leak.
