Lets start a surfer thread!
Title says it all. I currently live and work in Las Vegas, but its looking like I will be moving home to Hawaii soon. cant wait to ship my M3 back, but I dont think I will use it as my surf car. I dont want racks on it and many surf breaks are notorius for break ins. I got a Ford Ranger for my surf vehicle.

It's been a while but I was die hard surfer back in college. My favorite local break is Trestles. I would never move surf gear with my M3. I have a SUV for that.

Nah, you're not the only surfer with an M3. I too surf but these days it's limited to summer time surf sessions as I have developed an allergy to neoprene of all things!! Being in So Cal, the water just gets too cold in the winter.
Oh well. Grew up surfing though. Local contests, the whole 9. Nowadays I just bring out the longboard from time to time. |

I surf but I only have a 335 I have a soft FCS roof rack but never put it on the BMW. I used to always use it on my suby though and it looked super badass with the boards on the roof. God I miss that car, I wish I could have kept it but I guess my house is a better investment

Caught a nice overhead swell on the North Shore last week. Was back there for a family reunion. Chuns had 150 guys out! Surfed the rights at Leftovers with about 10 others. It was clean and consistent. Then we went and bodysurfed Waimea shore break. And jumped off the rock about 8 times. Beer and BBQ after. And sleep

I surf in Ventura County, when there is decent swell I practically never drive my e92 because ive always got the wifes suv to haul around my longboards. Been thinking about getting the oem roof racks so I atleast have the option of going out for a quick session without having to go across town and back to swap cars.

I lived on O'ahu and on Big Island for years...never saw a M3 as a surf vehicle...
Saw lots of junkers though...and depending where you park, might not want to take your really nice car there anyway...IMHO |

I used to have an E92 M3, and could fit my 7'10" funboard inside. Now I just put my board in a sedan. Never liked the look of a rack ruining the clean lines of the M3.

Do not take your M3 to North Shore or town either. Actually you got it right... use a truck or SUV for the beach. I feel like there are alot more breakins nowadays all over the island. Sucks.
