New (well to me) E90 MSport 2007
Im a proud owner of a 2007 318i MSport - I traded it in for a pug 308 + paid some more cash for a 2007 Msport..WOW such a difference, I used to think 'whats all the fuss about?' Though understand now :-)
Its a great car to drive, I live on a island where the speed limit is only 40mph anyway so the performance is not an issue, even though it moved ok. I got it for a good price with 50k miles, not a great FSH though im quite handy and gave it a good once over, its in mint condition. Questions - It hadnt had a service for two years (20k miles) and so that was my first Job, I got lumped with a £400 bill which is ok, though as thought the brakes need doing in 3k - had the quote today for 450 including labour and all the parts at a independent BMW specialist. Firstly is this an ok price? The head mechanic who has years of experience couldnt believe it had done 50k miles, he thought it had done 20k - so im quite pleased, yes a bit of maintenance in the first year of ownership but not to bad. I love the looks of the car, not to over the top but enough have some street cred ;-) Though the back end looks a bit out of place, Im tempted by a lip spoiler - where would be the best place to get one? I think it will finish the back end perfectly. Prob a noob question, though have a hazard light after the service on the dash, what is that? It has mileage of some random 456 miles and counting... I can notice the difference from the service, its a bit slicker in the gears and better starting. Overall, im v pleased, im only 28 - so some might think a 3 series a bit 'old man' though I feel its sophisticated - also practical for my 1year old daughter, loads of space in the back and boot!! Any tips for the above, or anything to look out for let me know. Thanks Steve |

Welcome mate, and a 3series is far from 'Old man' its a young mans car, old people look silly in 3 series.
I was 23/24 when I got my 335d.

After a couple of weeks of ownership I still feel as excited as when i first turned (pressed the start button the key!! Agreed the handling is one the best aspects of the car, it is lovely to drive.
Ill give it some TLC this weekend and put some pics up - A quick couple of things, anyone replaced a key before? only came with one and i know what im like..from what ive seen its £200 from a dealer? Also sometomes get some strange knocking from the dash? p.s can not wait to get the autoglym out this weekend, sad but finally got my passion for driving back |
