I'm new to engine mods on my 2008 BMW 335i so I am trying to figure out how I can add more hp and torque (preferably 100+) by installing some mods. I was reading about "Cobb AP" and read that on stage 1 it will give a 30% hp and 38% tq gain. I still have warranty on my vehicle and I know that Cobb is a safe way to gain that extra tq and hp, but will I really gain that much?? I am deciding whether or not I want to go to stage 2 but I don't know what parts to buy for it. I'm not entirely sure if I should buy the Cobb.

Could some of you who have or had the Cobb give me your reviews on it. If you think there is a better way to gain the hp and tq that I need rather than using Cobb, would you explain to me how I could do so?? Please no negative comments, I know I don't sound to smart about this stuff but I am new to it.

I think Cobb gives you around 70 hp with a stock car. So problem solved!

Stage 2 Cobb requires aftermarket downpipes, which cost roughly $700ish new, and you might want to get BMS Dual Cone Intake (DCI) as well, which is like $100 new.

Just order the Cobb AP and enjoy. You see good gains on a stock car and maybe a little more with an intake. If you're really interested in power you'll need the stage 2+ maps and hardware.

remove your both turbos, and add supercharger, you will have both torque and power 450+!

Your so cool, It's funny how you would waste your time to give this guy a hard time. Get a life, and to the OP, to gain 80 hp with the Cobb you would need to go Stage 2 which would require a down pipe and intake of your choice.

Procede Rev3 v5, with PWM meth and DCI will be more than 80 HP you will be very happy.

I just installed the Cobb ap the other day, I would recomend it if you want an easy install and a nice bump in power. On stage 1 aggressive 93 octane , I gained about 68 whp and 70 + wtrq. There are other maps also so when you add dp and fmic you can run a new map to accommodate your mods.

Have you ever asked a question and someone gave your straight answer but you retained info for 10 mins only? On other hand, If you did some research on topic, you would have retained info for long time, not only that but you acquire some knowledge too.

My friend, if you have time than take his credit card number, go shopping for him and install all mods too. But when something goes wrong, I am sure he will call you, cuz he got no clue to what is going on.

If he had took his two minutes of his time to search, there are gazillion threads about which tune is better and what not.

All I am saying is if you research, you LEARN SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For ease of install/uninstall and your concerns with warranty just buy a DCI (BMS dual-intake) and Cobb AP. the intake is relatively easy to put back to stock when doing warranty
Work and the Cobb AP is as easy as 1,2,3 to flash stock and re-flash tuned.

Do yourself a favour dude, keep it simple to avoid warranty hassle. The absolute easiest is just get Cobb.

Have fun, look around at some other threads and you'll learn a lot. I'm relatively new here too and these short months I've learned a ton just from reading different threads.

No mods yet but warranty will be done soon and I'm planning to go big

Yeah but maybe he only wants 80 hp flywheel gain. What you are suggesting will give him a 125+ HP/TQ gain to the WHEELS and only takes ~ 2 hours to install and after you've figured out the install once, less than an hour to uninstall and reinstall for dealer visits. Plus with the sophistication of the software, no codes/CEL's, etc. Just drive with a huge grin.
