Have you seen this thread?

Basically stand looking straight at the engine, look down into the gap between the fan and engine to your bottom left and you should see it - may need a torch

You should see a bright red pipe, in my case it was oily and difficult to see lol

I would have thought the 330D and 335D are similar if not same engine just different in the way it is tuned?

Plus another turbo so apart from the block I'd say the inlet and exhaust system would be different.

Yes the 330d does indeed have the red boost hose it's on the bottom left, mine also has a spiral wire round it... I'm guessing this is normal.

It does indeed have a red boost pipe! Couldn't see any oil on the top...assuming it was/could be leaking down in at the bottom (where you can't really see)

Yes, the 330d does have this red pipe and I took mine in to my local Indy and he explained it needed replacing as it has split (and I could see and HEAR it). The cost from BMW parts was £130 plus half hour labour to fit it.
Symptoms are loss of power but only gradual and not too much loss and a very loud whooshing/hissing sound when pressing the accelerator pedal.
