M-sport. Black or white?
After a long process of selecting a new daily driver, I am going for a 120d M-sport. I even think I am through with selecting options.
The remaining issue is the outside colour! After a lot of thinking and watching other F20s I am down to two choices: - Alpine White: Very cool in combination with M styling. White makes the car stand out, very visible. The thing is that white might go out of style after a couple of years. - Black Saphire: Very elegant, yet sporty. A perfect mate to the black F12. But may be also a little too ordinary? The choice is mine, but any comments would be appreciated

Just my thoughts but white will NEVER go out of fashion, it's been amongst the top colours of choice for many years. I love white, bought a black X5 recently....looks great clean but a pain in the ass to keep it that way. White is much easier and equally striking. But the choice is yours!!

Brown is the new white - available from March.
If had to choose between white or black, would pick white, as looks great and can see the curves and details of the car. However, if opting for an M sport, the rear bumper contrast works less well with light colours, in which case black will be nicer. Thankfully I'm past the point where I can change my order. :-) |

M-Sport F20 Colours
It's an M-sport - has to be white no ?
Are there any colour options on the alcantra option - is it blue only or will there be other trims - red ? orange ? black ? |

Do not know if this will be an option, but Mineralweiß will look great on the M-Sport. Otherwise I would take Alpineweiß. Looks nice next to the black 640i.

I went through the same question when I was ready to order my 128i, I answered the question pretty quickly one day, I Chicago O'hare parking lot when I counted 21 BMW parked at the same level as my former car and 19 out of them where black... Never regretted Alpine White which looks awesome with the brown interior and sparkle nicely when clean, plus it contrasts nicely with the shadowline trim

Thanx for positive response!
@fretless6: According to the catalogue (at least over here), the alcantara interior is only in black with dark blue stitching. Options are Dakota leather in black/black, oyster/oyster or red/black. I like the alcantara interior, and it suits a black as well as a white car. @bimmerman: Black on the F20 M-sport is means black sapphire, not carbon black (on the F12/13 it is opposite. Strange). @doubleyou: Mineral White is not among the M-sport options. @Sol01 and JonF: You gave clear messages! I would normally prefer a black car over a white, but the M styling (the front) is much more visible and aggressive in white and really does something to the odd nose of the car. So this will be one of the most difficult choices of my (automobile) life Keep on convincing me

I would go either for White (I had 4 black cars...it is a pain to keep them clean and in Greece they get really hot in summer) or Estoril Blue.

Nice choice, superspeed! Knowing that you live like me in a super-taxation country it's a lot of money for such a little car, isn't it :-)
But at least you have some very nice roads to drive your 1-er. I am already planning a road trip through Norway to fully enjoy my future car |

Anyway my choice for the F20 ended up in Black Sapphire. Here is the configuration: http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=646647 While signing the contract at the dealership last week, I saw an F20 in your colour, Sparkling Bronze. It is a very unique colour, and looked really good on that car. Make sure to post pictures when you get it! Outside Oslo area there are few motorways , but there are plenty of entertaining roads for a sporty car. I can recommend the complete fiord coast from Stavanger to Kirkenes. Have fun!

I am planning on upgrading my 2008 1 series. But I had to wait for the m-sport version to get launched. I feel the car is a bit odd looking without the m-sport front bumper. I still can't choose the m-sport version on the Norwegian BMW website. But what is the cost (in NOK) for the m-package on the new 1 series? I am also considering upgrading to the 120d. With your specs, what was the approx total cost? |

I agree, the M styling takes the front design to another level! Actually you can configure the F20 with M-sport package at BMW.no from this week. Only the choice of 17 and 18" rims is not updated in the configurator. The M package cost for the 120d is NOK 28 400 (EUR 3 700). The complete car as I ordered has a list price of NOK 502 000 (EUR 66 000) including delivery. There might be some smaller options that I did not list, in that price. Getting a good deal is up to your own skills Good luck with the process of choosing a new car. Keep us informed here! (You are of course welcome to PM me)
