with a guy that looks like that i thought they'd go the opposite route... and have the guy act out horribly for each scenario aka "park assist buddy" totally wrecks the car... "night vision buddy" gets distracted, etc etc... then in contrast say "want a more reliable co-pilot? BMW Connected-drive"
dangit... i shoulda wrote that in to them.. lol... i need money!

Am I supposed to want a nagging 'co-pilot'?

steady but slowly we all are getting trapped by technology doing what WE are supposed to do it.
A: Focused and concentrated fully connected to the asphalt = Driver B: ConnectedDrive = Puppet Last edited by mcacciola; 02-14-2012 at 12:24 PM.. Reason: misstype |

Co-pilot reminds me of Bud Lite guy...... I guess if BMWNA is trying to be funny while showing off their "new" technologies then they succeeded. But you wont find me rushing into your local dealer over these adds.
Don Draper would not approve!

In a car, i want to be enjoying the drive,
In a BMW, i want to be enjoying the ultimate driving machine... not be read facebook news, or how to steer my car to park. I know how to park, i want to show everyone that i can parallele park. What's the merit of having a computer park your car? Cool, like Apple Cool? And if i wanted to check on my friends latest news, i can do so in many other thousands ways... Even the restroom is no longer a safe haven from electronic world communication... let it not be my car too... Quote:
That's why i have an order for an F30 withOUT all the non-sense technology package that falsely make people feel safer... People dont want to assume their own responsibilities, including me, but those connected drive just give them more reasons not to.... As for me, the price of those packages are just one more reason to remind myself i'd rather do it on my own... and get the reward of a more connected drive (in the purer sense).... But to each its own... i get that sometimes people want to be babysitted, and taken care of ... even if it means by machines/computers.... to feel served and superior, by having the nicest things at your fingertips... to have the latest technology ... night vision and driving aids etc ... etc etc.. All that might make for a comfortable ride, but for me, makes for a boring ride.. (oops i forgot, i could have facebook and twiter to make it exciting, the amish that i am) peace out... PS: i find it funny that a few years ago, BMW had those commercial saying Not to Text While driving... but now with their connected-drive "technology", it's suddendly ok to have your mind wonder off by having a computer read your emails and facebook news... it's now ok, because you have the night vision and the blind spot detection to drive the car for you, and you also have airbags to cushion you in case you are getting excited for your friend sending you a tweet from Cancun!?

Thoughts on park assist
If a person cannot handle a car at 2-3 km/h backing in a parking spot, can you trust that person driving at 100 km/h .

^ I think I a lot of females will be using that. Almost non of my female friends can parallel park...
I only have trouble with deciding if I can fit in a small spot or not. Other than that, I'm good...
