Nitto NT05

Hi,

Is anyone running these Nitto NT05 tires? or only Corvettes and Porsche's run these, because I only find reviews that owners of these cars run them?

And if you are tell me something about them.

Thanks

nt05r are pretty good.

Not as scary in the rain as people make it sound, you just need to be more careful.

They hookup pretty good on most normal n54 applications as well especially with an lsd.

So you ran these, cool but that is all you have to say about them?

Check with Mike@N54Tuning, I think he's running these on his car.

That is good to hear, Thanks.

But one question, how do they work in the colder weather?

All soft compound rubber will freeze when the temps dip below zero. Spun out a Porsche that way a few years back, and luckily recovered her on the second 360 Don't run ultra high performance tires when its below freezing.

I see Discount Tire Direct has a pretty good deal with free shipping on these tires...since I already have a brand new set of Hoosier DRs which I'll be putting on a separate set of rims for the rear for the strip and some fun this summer, I'm actually thinking of just going NT05 (not the NT05R) all around...

Mike, where did you order yours from? Any good deals on them that you know of?

Farley, i was on DRs doing my 60-130s this past November/December, they surprisingly still had tons of bite in them (Micky Thompson DRs)...i don't recommend it one bit though especially on DRs but I'm a bit cuckoo that way I usually change over to winters when the temps start to drop below 7C consistently...

Yeah I just need to know if when fall hits I could keep them on a little longer.

I hear discount sells them for a really good price, if they don't deliver to Canada you can send them to CBI USA, and the charge only $6US a tire and they are only minutes away from the border.

Mike
+1. Either change to winters or store it when temps are below optimal for hi perf tires. Especially Porsche due to the rear weight biased, so be careful even on the best of days with these rear engine cars.

I've just ordered a set (4) Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta from Simply Tire. Allen is a good friend of mine, it may be worth to ask him for the Nitto's; he may surprise you and save you a trip to the US.
Why Nitto, not happy with the Vreds?

I love mine but I got a wicked deal on a light weight rim and tire package on 18s and they came with the NT05s new.

So I will be selling my 19s with the Vredesteins.
